Polyurethane resin reproductions of a bowmouth guitarfish jaw, acrylic paint
20 x 20 x 30 cm
Identical reproductions of a shark jaw—from the bowmouth guitarfish, a distinctly-shaped shark ray that dwells in tropical water of the Indo-Pacific near the sea floor—are interlaced to form this sculpture. The off-white resin vaguely recalls ivory, while the shapes—ominous in their natural owner—have a delicate elegance.
