Roman Ondak Cross, 2019
Constructed from cut corners of a found wooden cabinet, Cross finds unexpected formal authority and beauty in the fragments of the repurposed furniture. The work holds in place a number of contradictory positions: as these are inside corners, the spectator is faced with an impossible perspective onto the former wardrobe; the private container is transformed into a powerful public symbol.
