End of April beginning of May II belongs to a suite of 15 small canvases, exploring a near monochrome palette and employing shades of black produced through changes in viscosity and shine. The works were produces on consecutive days, akin to daily entries in a journal, a fact noted in the subtitles which date each painting. Some canvases have rectangular motifs that evoke framing devices or windows through which outlines of plants become visible, both recurring themes in Truth Parson's iconography.
