Karolina Jabłońska The Process, 2026
This intimately-scaled work, executed in oil on wood, depicts a nude figure almost wholly submerged beneath a dense scattering of apples. Rendered as rounds of yellow, amber, and brown, the fruits drift across the surface as though suspended in liquid. The body surfaces only in fragments between the fruits, a knee, a torso, the soft blush of skin, so that figure and produce become nearly indistinguishable.
