Karolina Jabłońska Collecting Apples, 2026
Executed in oil on canvas, this large-scale work depicts a female figure holding out the hem of a pale slip while carrying a gathering of apples. She grips the fabric with both hands at either side, drawing it into a shallow pouch in which the green and red fruits lie. The garment is thin enough that her naked body is visible through it. The figure is cropped at the shoulders and thighs and is set against a warm, ochre background. This compressed viewpoint is characteristic of Jabłońska's depictions of the human body and its everyday gestures.
