Thomias Radin The First Dance, 2026
The painting brings together two central aspects of Radin’s practice: large-scale oil drawing and a mythological approach to imagery and the manner of its execution.
The First Dance originates in the idea that existence and life itself begin with movement. Nothing can sustain itself without constant movement. The central figure, a dancer, refers distantly to the earliest human cave paintings and to the genesis of artistic expression. The title evokes an archaic moment in human history: a first dance, a first ritual.
