Je coupe 4 is a sculpture in patinated bronze which depicts the profile of a halved apple intersected by a pair of slender knives. Each bronze is finished with a unique patina, so that no two casts share the same surface and coloration. The title, meaning "I cut," brings the domestic object into a realm of tension, where cutting suggests both nourishment and separation.
