"Post Realization Platform (Purple)" is a horizontal aluminium and plexiglas structure, conceived as a corner piece to be supported by the two adjoining walls and a free-standing pole. The plexiglass planes set in four of the six sections created by th cross beams are a pale purple. The work is both a poetic metaphor of a social situation and an object that relates to the architectural settings of a specific space. It follows the structure that Liam Gillick used in his very first platform „Second Stage Discussion Platform and Surface Designs“ from 1996.
"Post Realization Platform (Purple)" continues themes explored by Liam Gillick in his "Discussion Islands" series: it designates an imaginary space where a possible dialogue could take place. The title of the structure sketches out some productive negotiations: a discussion, an agreement, a delivery. The platform is not only affecting settings of a particular space, it can also be seen as an artwork encouraging conversations. Like the other works in the series, "Post Realization Platform (Purple)" entails the possibility of a discussion about a vision of the future.

Liam Gillick wrote about the "Discussion Island" series: ""Discussion Island" articulates the blurred relationship between people and effects in order to enable the development of a concept of the future within a post-utopian context. A vision of a future through the proposal of a series of environmental tools."*
