Half Empty is a photograph of a glass that is halfway filled with water. The title refers to the expression that suggests it is a subjective judgment to say a glass is "half-full" or "half-empty" and therefore reflects the outlook of the person judging, not the actual level of water in the glass.
A companion work, Half Full, displays the same image developed from a second negative. The two works can be exhibited together but should be installed in such such a way that the viewer can never look at both at the same time.
