Isa Melsheimer Schlaf III, 2026
Schlaf III is an oval, wall-mounted glazed ceramic work. Its surface features a dense relief of sinuous, interlocking forms that resemble roots, bark and tangled organic growth. A small, circular hole in the center of the work is offset by a tight cluster of vivid red cherries at the lower edge, which introduces a concentrated burst of color against the otherwise dark glazed background. The work is hand-built and fired, with the glaze producing the characteristic variation in surface depth and sheen that is central to Melsheimer's ceramic practice.
