Executed as a UV print on copper, Cavity depicts a dark opening in a field of grass. The image is based on a news photograph from Pittsburgh: in 2024, a woman stepped onto a puddle in a Walmart parking lot. The puddle concealed a sinkhole, and she vanished into the ground. Demand has explained: "I felt there was something biblical about that, that the earth opens and someone disappeared." As with all of his images, the scene exists only as a paper model, built at full scale, photographed, and destroyed.
