Thing One on Pixel Box Blue brings together major themes from the artist's work. It combines a Pixel Box that displays a sequence of monochrome color modulations with a charcoal-grey irregular rhombus. The slightly translucent white material of the cube stands in stark contrast to the opaque dark grey MDF object.

The artist programmed the Pixel Box to cycle through the standard color spectrum but since its red and green bulbs have been replaced with blue ones, all it can produce are varying shades of blue. The light sequence encourages the viewer to look for an underlying rhythm in the box's illumination.
