Crawler is a new series created for Philippe Parreno’s solo exhibition at Haus der Kunst. These 3 unique moving objects travelling on a vertical straight track are inspired by one of the first robots designed and built by neuroscientist W. Grey Walter to study the brain’s electrical activity. Each object has its own shape and dimensions and carries its own engine and brain system. These mechanical parts are covered by a glass shell inspired by the shell of a turtle and the work of Italian architect and designer Gae Aulenti who designed the Musée d’Orsay.
