Tapis de Lecture, 2000–07
Blue carpet, 500 books

Tapis de Lecture (reading carpet), presented in the ‘Carré Zen’, consists of piles of paperback fiction books (all selected by Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster) on a blue carpet inviting people to flip through the source material of her fictions. The carpet fills half of the space, which is also the waiting area for a tour to Cosmodrome.

Entrance to

Cosmodrome, 2001
Music by Jay-Jay Johanson
Sound & light installation (4 speakers, power cables, 2 power racks, power block, Iris print, cuts, hooks, consoles, shelves, soundcard and DMX cable, remote control, transformators, braces, gelatine, lights, cold light lamps, red lamps, bluelight, ARIC pipes)
Duration 09:00 min (looped)

Accompanied by a guide, visitors can reach Cosmodrome by an exterior walkway. This outdoor itinerary enables a projection of the artwork out of the museum, as a “satellite show”. The room is dark and the floor covered by sand. It can only be visited by a small group of people at a time, ensuring each visitor an individual experience.
