Introduction

240 minuten! is a collection of videos by several authors, compiled by Georg Graw and Lothar Hempel into a video magazine.

240 minuten! is available as a VHS-PAL videocassette with 4 hours playing time at a unit price of 50 dm.

240 minuten! functions like a visual magazine in which authors from different fields (pop, art, theory, journalism, etc...) make a video contribution about the method of their work.

The majority of the contributions were directed by the authors in their respective places of residence. The aim of this magazine is to create a pool for 'state of the art' information. The entire creation of 240 minuten! was public and could be visited like an exhibition.

The shooting dates were announced via an appointment calendar and telephone hotline and could be visited. The editorial work of Lothar Hempel and Georg Graw took place between October 16 and November 10 in the exhibition rooms of Esther Schipper.

The exhibition rooms were a meeting point for authors and visitors and were used as a filming location, office and editing suite.
