Simon Fujiwara Who’s Spiritual Journey?, 2026
230,1 x 175,4 cm
Simon Fujiwara's large-scale Who's Spiritual Journey is a major addition the body of work drawing on the artist's original cartoon figure Who the Bær. A figure conceived with no fixed identity and awash in today's image-driven world, Fujiwara has depicted Who through the perspective of major art historical works. The new three-part work, consisting of three paintings, each set in a differently colored frame, takes as point of departure the work of Hilma af Klint. Today the paintings by the Swedish artist and mystic, whose pioneering work has only in recent years come into the art historical canon, are considered to be among the first major abstract works in Western art history.
