Pierre Huyghe Timekeeper (Serpentine), 2019
53,5 x 53,5 x 3 cm (framed)
Pierre Huyghe’s drawing depicts in colored pencil the delicate rings of his site-specific wall installation Timekeeper at the Serpetine Galleries in London. Created by sanding down a circular section to reveal previous layers of paint, the Timekeeper wall installation was included in the artist's solo exhibition UUmwelt (October 3, 2018 – February 10, 2019). A paradigmatic example of Pierre Huyghe’s investigation of exhibitions as time-based experiences, the Timekeeper project began in 1999 with a site-specific wall installation made for the artist’s solo exhibition Le procès du temps libre at the Vienna Secession.
